just so you guys know i aint just sitting on me bum, here's how my new submission package's looking. as you can all see, i've gone with ol Spawny guy...instead of the original MoonKnight plan. this here is part of a set inspired by Bendis+Wood's brilliant run on Hellspawn (specifically, HellSpawn 3).
it's pretty weird actually, since i've been fond of spawn for a long time, but never really got to collecting the title seriously...and faithfully. i do pick up issues i spot at the bargain bins for the sheer nostalgic fun of it.
anyways, here's how the new approach is going. really loving the freedom this is giving me, although i'd love to be more courageous and just go wild with it. considering this is pretty much a "regular" submission, i'm holding back a bit...i think i may have to do another set just for fun.
hope you guys dig. it's been amazing the inspiration i've been getting from you all. hope you'll support all through the way.
yeah, lots of people notice even before. so i think i really may have to push thru with this approach, and considering how much of a horror nut i am. i'm actually having fun with this, which is very good at least i'll be able to produce solid stuff.
one kickass page! where's the rest???? i want MOOOORRRREEEE!!!!!!!!!! (teehee). seriously, you've outdone yourself with this one. my eyes may not be trained with comic art nor am i familiar with the artists you get your inspiration from (since most of the comic books you let me read are all so cute and all) but HONESTLY, THIS IS ASTOUNDING! the dark areas, the halftones, the storytelling and oh those cool smokes! everything wow! clap clap clap clap clap!
hahahhah.you know why my momentum's slowed down...its because of those damn Gundam00 model kits!...god, i love those things. although they take me away for hours from the drawing table. just Dynames to go, and i'll be back to normal speed. hehehhe. thanks as always for the comment, glad you like the page!!! i swear to outdo myself with the next
This really looks amazing. You're style really fits the horror aspect of Spawn. If you ever want to submit a short 8 pager to our FusionX Anthology book let me know and I'll note you the details.
hey justin! how's it goin? glad you're liking the horror approach...i've always hoped that Spawn takes on this road, and not too much of the spandex side, since he's background is very horror. i think brian haberlin and company's doing a marvelous job on the book right now.
also, thanks for the flattering invite for your FusionX project. i think it has a lot of potential, at the same time, the Gabriel pages are just lovely. Jimmy's doing a great job of integrating photos+photoshop/graphic designs...i think it's killer! could you note me details on that project...overview, timeframe, creators involved, publisher, release, etc...just so i can have a better grasp of things. thanks again Justin!
