just a lil warm-up before i dive myself into graphic designs again. got to keep the old pencil and brush sharp y'know.
i kinda realized i haven't actually done the Batman for quite sometime now, and the other night i was sketching while waiting for a file to flatten...and i unconsciously drew Venom. which i think came out pretty wicked considering i haven't actually rendered him before. just the other day, i read that marvel's introducing a brand new character to the spidey mythos...the anti-venom...WTF!!!??? don't they have Carnage to fill the job already...this thing with the reverse color of Venom sort of just screams GIMMICK!!!
anyways, i wanted to actually color this piece, but i had to stop myself from doing so if i wanted to get some sleep later tonight. but i'll get around to doing that soon. promise
have a great sunday you guys! hope you all like. drop me a line when you can
thanks Nicolas, i'm equally flattered that a poet checked out my site/piece. yeah, i was really going for dark and light with this piece, really with a horror feel for it...
i think it was amazing kelley jones who said that the most effective horror is where you don't show much and just leave the rest to wreck havoc on the reader's minds.
aregatou, Tatsu-san. although i'll have yet to tidy this piece up, balance the blacks, add color and textures...damn graphic designs keep pulling me away from comics
You're welcome. Yes you definitely gave it a horror feel. I may be a poet but I do love all kinds of art... to me it's really all the same just with different instruments.
hey! a photographer is also checkin out your pages! hahaha! anyway, remember how i define good photos? it is when they captivate your eyes even when in thumbnails! so when i visited your homepage, this neatly balanced scary black and white piece in your gallery corner is definitely shouting "look at me!!!" congrats!
thanks again. of course i love it when comic and "the usual" artists take a look at the pieces. but i'm thrilled a lil more when artists from the other industries take time to check the stuff up. thanks for the constant support, punky and everyone else!!!
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.
Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
