was fortunate enough to be invited for Whilce (Spawn, Image United, X-men)Portacio's benefit project for local artists who were victims of the terrible Typhoon Ondoy. since i think everyone's been posting their pieces, decided to give you guys a preview of mine.

it's my take on a local lore, Malakas and Maganda (Strong and Beautiful). they're practically an Adam and Eve type story, minus the devil. and they both came out from a single bamboo trunk...talk bout live-in:)

anyways, hope you enjoy the piece. the book's gonna come out this coming January and will be featuring some of the best Filipino artists (Whilce, Leinil Yu, Philip Tan, Mico Suayan, etc.) more details as we go along.

here's an interview over at USATODAY with Whilce regarding this most awesome of projects: [link]

You know, you never see comics that focus around superhero couples. Sure, they're peppered here and there around most books, but never the central aspect of a book =)
